VMS Students Give Back to the Community

Valhalla Middle School student musicians performed for 50 North Castle Senior Center members at an annual holiday celebration at Graziella’s restaurant in White Plains Dec. 14.

Under the direction of VMS choral director Deborah Woodard, the 24-member vocal ensemble performed “Hanukkah Night,” a Spanish lullaby titled “A La Nanita Nana,” an a capella medley of Christmas carols, “Little Saint Nick,” and “Bethlehem Bethlehem.”

The VMS jazz band, under the direction of Dr. Scott Rimm-Hewitt, performed “Deacon Jack’s Gospel Shack,” My Favorite Things” and “Jingle Bells.”

The singers and musicians came together for the grand finale of “Feliz Navidad.”
